Can you please advise on ability to break-down for shipping and subsequent re-assembly. Not sure I need all of it but perhaps a trillion pebbles and I can on-sell the balance (for a dollar a 'throw'). Does it run on batteries or is it self-propelling (gravity)? clax (60 ) 1:58 pm, Mon 28 Feb

Dear reader, happy for you to break down on site, but please mind the furniture. Rocky is self propelled, likes to rock and roll and is looking for a new roll! 2:12 pm, Mon 28 Feb

Sorry Phil, I agree with gen_max - you really should ask TradeMe to check out Sean from Chch. He's a new member, and you must have noticed no bids since his? Too much, too soon, not believable. I had an idiot ruin an auction this way, would hate to see that happen here. Your auction has been an inspiration and a joy, for which my deepest thanx. Re poor fingers, flex regularly & shake hands vigorously, & don't type so hard! Might help. Bless you and all in Christchurch. Love from Whangarei. happicat (23 )  5:22 pm, Thu 3 Mar

thanks guys...on to it as we speak :-) 5:48 pm, Thu 3 Mar

hi phil, you say he's off crack, but i see a lot of white stuff on him, you sure he's gone straight? hope its not a relapse or may have to check him into rehab, that could be the end of your problem. your spirit is amazing, may the world learn from you, good luck mate and god bless. anishak (15 )  5:28 pm, Thu 3 Mar

concrete dust officer, honest its concrete dust...:-) 5:49 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Hope you just ROCK ON so you can one again live a ROCKING GOOD life.... There is so much Aroha being sent to you from all over the world.... Best auction I have ever seen on Trademe. Do they have earthquakes on Norfolk? That donation is AMAZING... kiaora2u (690 )  5:37 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Dear GOD. My humble apologies for trying to flog your property off, but you see it is for a very good cause and I am kind of attached to him now. 5:59 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Maybe Mitre 10 Mega stores will be interested in Rocky. "Big is good", and really, there are no bigger than Rocky when it comes to inviting themselves in to your house! Thinking of you all down there. God bless. stressfree (399 ) 5:59 pm, Thu 3 Mar

stressfree - now that is a name worth bottling :-)...OK MITRE 10 WHERE ARE YOU?????? Better still, I will wager Mr "Big is Good" against my boy Rocky...fancy a rumble? 6:01 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I think he'd be right at home in the new Fletcher subdivision in Auckland. It's called Stonefields. Prhaps they'd offer him a good home! :)) adjiduhmo (153 )  6:08 pm, Thu 3 Mar

but who would he support?????? 6:15 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I wanna join the Rocky fan club... will pay! :D margkeane (45 )  6:10 pm, Thu 3 Mar

he is on facebook - then we will work out some ideas for other stuff 6:16 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I see GOD has advised you that the rock is his and not yours to sell. have you considered asking god to pay for the damage his rock has done to your house because it was too lazy to use the door? Great auction have enjoyed reading it. Hope all goes well and you can take the dog to Cass bay with you fatboydavies (69 )  6:12 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I did consider that...but I thought I would wait for you to ask :-) 6:17 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Sorry Phil, but I'm going to have to put a stop to this. I checked that rock's whakapapa and he comes from up here on the Volcanic Plateau. He was stolen when the Christchurch Colonials passed through in their carriages. Naturally I'll be putting a claim in under the Treaty ! Seriously what a wonderful bunch of people you have down there working together in this crisis. Best to all our Christchurch whanau ! murf13 (101 )  6:15 pm, Thu 3 Mar

awwwww - I like it here 9:23 am, Fri 4 Mar

they are genuine now - i know one of them 9:24 am, Fri 4 Mar

I'm intending on starting my own country. Is this rock big enough to drop into the sea for the intended purpose of claiming independence? I pinky swear to name the country Old Rockland. coffeemocha (127 )  6:24 pm, Thu 3 Mar

hmmm - perhaps a shallow estuary 9:24 am, Fri 4 Mar

You could always get someone to toss him over and plant him in the gardens, maybe even fence him in so he doesn't escape again. fantomfan (177 )  6:29 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I think he wants international stardom....my garden just aint big enough 9:25 am, Fri 4 Mar

Are you absolutely sick of answering these questions?? buzzaudio (87 )  6:41 pm, Thu 3 Mar

NOPE - therapy for me as it is for some of you 9:25 am, Fri 4 Mar

I see "Rocky" has done some previous screen work? I was wondering if he worked on LOTR, 2 Towers & Return of the King, i remember briefly seeing a handsome looking Kiwi Rock just like him in the battles scenes for the battle for Helms Deep & the Battle for Pelannor Fields. I think he was the best rock in both battles, the way he launched himself by catapult & smash into the fortress walls was amazing, he truly immersed himself into the roll (& wall of the fortress...& ultimately your house). 2dr73xa (79 )  6:41 pm, Thu 3 Mar

nice...a real LOTR expert. Will check with him but think he bit parted in the second movie 9:26 am, Fri 4 Mar

This is a great piece of improv work, it is so avon-guard, it's so "now" and so cutting edge..…it just seems to smash into your living room and yell IM HERE! Anyway I’m getting off track, I’m wondering if Rocky is a member of the NZ Actors Union, seriously, does rocky need an agent? I’m fairly sure I can easily get him work on the Hobbit? They are casting for rocks and boulders now, but I’m sure, given rocky’s obvious acting ability we could get him a much bigger part! 2dr73xa (79 )  6:50 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I have been trying to convince him to let me be his agent...but you know these big rocks! 9:27 am, Fri 4 Mar

Seems like your Rocky has left a lot of liquicraption around the place since youre at it selling him why dont you bottle the stuff and sell his accidents on Ebay and trademe as well. im sure people would buy it from all over the place.. Great fund raiser :-) tanks2u (534 )  6:50 pm, Thu 3 Mar

fanks 9:27 am, Fri 4 Mar

Hi. Just a quick note to say 'thanks'. Rocky was due at our place down the valley a bit and we're rather glad that you persuaded him to stay. Any chance of auctioning off the firewod from the trees he demolished on his way through? Not that we have a log burner anymore:-) cheekymum123 (191 )  6:51 pm, Thu 3 Mar

thanks cheeky...only glad we could help...yep and the trees are yours :-) 9:28 am, Fri 4 Mar

Just wondering if you needed resource consent for your housing alterations??? .... Saw this on the 'Stuff' website and have 'shared' on FB ..... Fabulous trade ... haven't laughed so much in ages! Hoping that Sean is the 'real deal' (that bid sorta put it outta my reach!) ..... All the best .... =) mitchc (267 )  6:52 pm, Thu 3 Mar

thanks bud....we have moved the bidding game on now 9:29 am, Fri 4 Mar

I have a few (100) bricks that may make a nice accessory that I am happy to throw in. Let me know if you want to collect them from my front lawn pru2 (172 )  6:56 pm, Thu 3 Mar

where shall we throw them? 9:30 am, Fri 4 Mar

And i know agents in Hollywood are currently casting for "Armageddon II", "The revenge of the Asteroid". Rocky would be great for the roll of the lead Asteroid, he would play the part of the son of the original asteroid who comes to Earth to seek revenge for the Earthlings destroying his father (the original asteroid). It’s a very moving story, some might say, Earth Moving. Anyway, Call me and we’ll do lunch and talk about Rockys future!! TTFN! 2dr73xa (79 )  6:57 pm, Thu 3 Mar

GREAT idea...R is a big sciFi fan 9:30 am, Fri 4 Mar

Hi, Im very interested in Rocky for the giant catapult I am at present constructing atop the port hills. I am planning on doing a Pete Betheuen with Rocky and slinging him at a passing Japanese whaling ship which will hopefully be passing within range. Also does he have an older brother or sister I could use for a counter weight? Id be willing to pay per kg for the extra boulder. And finally do you have any large rubber bands laying about the property that you can spare? Thanks greentrader22 (9 )  6:57 pm, Thu 3 Mar

good idea...you would need a very big rubber band though :-) 9:31 am, Fri 4 Mar

How about we all get together, break up Rocky, and sell the Rockettes for $10 each plus postage worldwide. All proceeds to the appeal. Rock on kpc1 (22 )  6:58 pm, Thu 3 Mar

not sure he would be keen on that 9:31 am, Fri 4 Mar

Good to see you on cambell live. Wish your family well and safe rockzcm (53 )  7:07 pm, Thu 3 Mar

thanks heaps....did they get my best side okay...and how many chins did u spot? 9:32 am, Fri 4 Mar

Hi, i saw you on the news i would love to buy rocky but 1 problem how am i going to get it to my house?? kevy_boy (48 )  7:09 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I was nervous as hell - must admit to downing a couple of G&T's b4 hand to calm the nerves :-) 9:32 am, Fri 4 Mar

Just wondering if this rock has any heritage significance. What is its lineage please? myself001 (94 )  7:12 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Strong family lineage back to stonehenge and the rock of gibraltar 9:33 am, Fri 4 Mar

I heard the Black Caps were looking for a "rock solid" opening batsman. Is he available? He wouldn't get constantly injured like the current lot, and if you sell him to the IPL you could get squillions. (and he has more personality than Ross Taylor) Kia Kaha all in Christchurch. rachandroly (64 )  7:18 pm, Thu 3 Mar

well we need 15 billion so the IPL might be a good idea. 9:33 am, Fri 4 Mar

Mate, just saw this on Campbell Live! You've got a great sense of humor. Anyway, was wondering if Rocky would like to hang out at Stony Batter on Waiheke Island? Some nice big rocks out there, and plenty of old war tunnels for him to roll around in. Just be careful of the receptionist. She's not exactly a fan of big rocks rolling around. penza1 (721 )  7:20 pm, Thu 3 Mar

thanks penza1. I was as nervous as hell :-)..Waiheke is a stunning place, but he likes altitude so it might not me high enough for him 9:35 am, Fri 4 Mar

Hi Rocky has to be a one eye Canterbury supporter who tryed to streak across the field and got hanged up on the boundry will the police put him in the lock up. LBT lbt (45 )  7:22 pm, Thu 3 Mar

how did u guess 9:35 am, Fri 4 Mar

Did Ken Moon predict this then Mr Campbell ukimports (70 )  7:23 pm, Thu 3 Mar

funnily I did ask John if he was intending to do a "moon man" on me :-) 9:36 am, Fri 4 Mar

Hmmmmm shame on him - Rocky is obviously not a golfer.... hasn't replaced his divits !! Thoughts with all you guys - from down south xx garjan1 (187 )  7:26 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Hi there, Think we've all got it wrong - we should be pitching in to send Rocky to India - he's the only Kiwi who can bowl in a straight line at the moment!!!! He might just bring home the world cup! Keep up the great laughs! fissie (274 )  7:27 pm, Thu 3 Mar

not only that but he uses fully grown pine trees as wickets!! 9:37 am, Fri 4 Mar

I am thinking of buying it for Auckland City (Super), but Len Brown hit his head five times (self flagellating) and said, " I need no more rocks in my head. I just want a railway tunnel!". Sorry I could not answer that, so no bid.... tuskdive (7 )  7:28 pm, Thu 3 Mar

awwww - COME ON LEN I KNOW U HAVE THE DOSH!!!! 9:37 am, Fri 4 Mar

Just wondering if Rocky has any children you can sell too? Surely they must've pooped out of Rockies bum on his way down the hill? goodsman1 (64 )  7:28 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Hi there, is Rocky dog friendly?. I have two and I don't want them rolled on. Does he play nice? antiqcurio (8 )  7:32 pm, Thu 3 Mar

I've run out of Viagra. Could I put crush Rocky and snort the powder as a replacement? a221 (7 )  7:32 pm, Thu 3 Mar

interesting....:-) 9:40 am, Fri 4 Mar

Aren't we forgetting something here? What about all the other boulders / rock that have been missed placed since the 22th? Some are on the side of the road forgotten and unloved. Displaced through no fault of their own, separated from their families, lost and disoriented - and juveniles to boot! Is the Rock Protection Society going to set up an 'Adopt a Rock' foundation? PS Keep up the great work. macdoes (3 )  7:33 pm, Thu 3 Mar

yeah - I know there are lots of them. However, I think R was always destined for stardom 9:40 am, Fri 4 Mar

Having worked as an artist making my living for 18 years selling clay sculptures, are you aware that when you start selling sculptures you are expected to put up with the BS that goes with the art world? Front up at the auction and talk arty farty! I gave up and now work for Red Cross. Are you up for the challenge of the art world? It can be shallow, not all but some. I feel sure you could brighten it up. Good luck katedid (88 )  7:40 pm, Thu 3 Mar

hey katedid, yep we are SOOOO up for it. Rocky is working on his mince walk as we speak :-) 9:44 am, Fri 4 Mar

wow thanks very much for this. We are hoping to open an office in Wellywood later this year so I may yet take you up on that :-) 9:47 am, Fri 4 Mar

If Rocky is indeed a boy and a father then the secret to reducing transport costs is finding his hat! Papa is a rolling stone and where ever he lays his hat is his home....... (move the hat and Rocky may follow!) Best wishes and prayers from Hawkes Bay. Keep safe and keep positive. viper20 (1420 )  7:58 pm, Thu 3 Mar
