Can you please advise on ability to break-down for shipping and subsequent re-assembly. Not sure I need all of it but perhaps a trillion pebbles and I can on-sell the balance (for a dollar a 'throw'). Does it run on batteries or is it self-propelling (gravity)? clax (60 ) 1:58 pm, Mon 28 Feb
Dear reader, happy for you to break down on site, but please mind the furniture. Rocky is self propelled, likes to rock and roll and is looking for a new roll! 2:12 pm, Mon 28 Feb
ok - lets go find a rhinosasaurous to ride then :-) 9:48 am, Fri 4 Mar
If we put Rocky out in the sea, would he come with his own 200km fishing zone?? gcd (2 ) 7:59 pm, Thu 3 Mar
well I would love him to stay that far away from MY house :-) 9:49 am, Fri 4 Mar

If this is Rocky - hate to see what the rest of his family are like - or is that a pic of them you have posted?! Love your sense of humour in such amazing adversity - it's this kind of Cantabrian spirit we love. Take care from - two Wellingtonians proud to still call Christchurch home. forstars (27 ) 8:06 pm, Thu 3 Mar
they are all sitting up on the hill laughing at this auction :-) good on ya for staying, if we are to rebuild our city then we need people with fortitude and strength like you guys 9:51 am, Fri 4 Mar
I've heard about rock stars smashing up hotel rooms but this is going a bit too far! Maybe he could do a "Greatest Hits" album - he'd have to start with "It's Only Rock and Roll (But I Like It)" then there's "Rock Around the Clock"; "Rock Me Baby" ... any more suggestions? keith650 (31 ) 8:06 pm, Thu 3 Mar
keith....is that you keith...its Mick here and I am trapped under this friggin rock :-) 9:51 am, Fri 4 Mar
Sorry to rock your world, but I work for DOC, and the rock, having been illegally dislodged, must be returned forthwith to its original location. Failure to comply with this request may result in said rock being seized and used in evidence aginst your flagrant abuse of the enviroment. Any moss, grass, mud, rare frogs, or any native flora and fauna must also be replaced. (Oh,and have a great auction!) muzz472 (46 ) 8:06 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Blessing to all, but mainly to you awesome lot! It might have been suggested already, sorry for not going through all the Q/As, but you should consider making a book out of this auction including all these hillarious, amazing and wonderful comments. And than you have another fundraiser! Laughter is the best medicine, our thoughts are with you. 5t (60 ) 8:17 pm, Thu 3 Mar
thats a great idea - might just do that 9:57 am, Fri 4 Mar
Hi Phil, well I could not read ALL this and not comment (just a little! :). I was trying to think up a pun that has not been used but have to admit I have come up against a stone wall!! - there I did it!. Actually if Rocky is *that* old then he might like the 1974 hit, "ROCKY" by Austin Roberts? Good stuff. Looks like his fame is set in Stone hehe. Cheers. pnuts (110 ) 8:22 pm, Thu 3 Mar
pnuts - you nailed it - well done!! 9:57 am, Fri 4 Mar

whew - I thought u were going to blaspheme for a moment 10:00 am, Fri 4 Mar
Hello, Rock Biter here from the Neverending story. Was wondering if you could do a taste test on your delicious looking rock. Just lick it, to see if it is igneous or sedimentary? It looks like it would make a tasty snack. I would come along on my rock bike but feel with my size I may cause a few more tremors, which is the furthest from my intentions. If I like it, I will see if I can get a flock of Luck Dragons to lift it to my kitchen. A couple of hundred luck Dragons should do the job. Cheers anglo1 (1730 ) 8:36 pm, Thu 3 Mar
hey rockbiter - you just stay well away from our rocky - you hear!! 10:01 am, Fri 4 Mar
Would this rock be useful when a man wants to get his rocks off? sistaesta (136 ) 8:37 pm, Thu 3 Mar
ummmm - let me think about this one.....quite possibly not. mind u - whatever floats your boat :-) 10:02 am, Fri 4 Mar
Fantastic auction. I'd love to see the winner donate Rocky for use later in a memorial. He deserves to stay in the place that gave rise to him. Is he a God-fearing church goer? I suspect his favourite hymn is Rock of Ages. ansi (27 ) 8:41 pm, Thu 3 Mar
yeah that idea appears to be gathering moss - whoops momentum 10:02 am, Fri 4 Mar
Does he do simple tricks? I'm thinking he'd be rather nice herding sheep so I would like him to "Get in behind!" When entertaining guests, I'd like him to "Roll over, boy". I did think he looks a little pale - possibly he's rather shy and needs to be a bit bolder. This is one cliff-hanger of an auction... Warm regards from the sunny (I wish) Coromandel - hang in there, mate. 1349 (17 ) 8:49 pm, Thu 3 Mar
thanks mate. he best party trick is play dead :-) 10:09 am, Fri 4 Mar
pity there aren't two of these ... they'd look marvelous at the base of the Ohakune Carrot! bullfrog64 (141 ) 8:49 pm, Thu 3 Mar
what you saying here bullfrog? :-) 10:09 am, Fri 4 Mar
LISTEN UP EVERYONE...... I just spent a very happy 1/2 hr looking at the stuff on the CommArc-Consulting-Ltd facebook page. I'm sure Phil is not in this thing for himself but I'd like to draw your attention to the fact that there is more Phil-ish humour on his companies facebook page. Still not actually sure what CommArc do but will keep investigating... meanwhile if your having problems with computers then I think Phil and his team are the men and women for the job! ali2004 (99 ) 8:50 pm, Thu 3 Mar
thanks Ali - were are a bunch of fun loving geeks, with lots of very loyal customers whom we love to bits. Thanks heaps for the plug but we are happy to stay under the radar on this one :-). 10:12 am, Fri 4 Mar
Now this would make an AWESOME weather rock in the middle of Cathedral Square ... White on top? it's snowing, Bouncing? it's another damn aftershock! ... you're a legend dude, keep looking up! bullfrog64 (141 ) 8:52 pm, Thu 3 Mar
ahhh - you again :-) thanks dude, your support rocks! 10:12 am, Fri 4 Mar
Hey, we are looking for a voice-over artist to sell our back catalogue of music. Artists include Shakin' Stevens, The Tremorloes, The Bay City Rollers and Earth Wind and Fire. Auditionees must have a gravelly voice and ability to work under pressure. Own transport would be appreciated. Rocky sounds like our guy! (God bless you guys - thanks for the laugh - much needed) paulandhayley (100 ) 8:53 pm, Thu 3 Mar
I have just the rock for you guys...shall I flick through the contract :-) 10:13 am, Fri 4 Mar

If Rocky was in a choir I think he would definitely sing 2nd Bass. :) Brilliant ad well done. Are you perchance related to Sam Johnson or the Johnsons that own a house off Brighton Rd? It seems your famaily name has a wonderful sense of dealing with challenges. tramist (296 ) 8:58 pm, Thu 3 Mar
not that I am aware...my parents emigrated from the UK in the swinging 60's.. thanks for your support 10:15 am, Fri 4 Mar
Whats the penalty for a house intruder ? crashalot (20 ) 9:01 pm, Thu 3 Mar

What a legend! Brilliant, brilliant auction. Reckon Rocky needs to take pride of place in Cathedral Square as a reminder of the inspiration and hope people have taken from all sorts of things over the last ten days! If the auction gets to $12,000 I will pay for the airtickets for 4 people to get to Norfolk! Send me a contact email and will touch base tomorrow re this. Thinking of you all in Chch... dide45 (61 ) 9:03 pm, Thu 3 Mar

You guys are simply wonderful for doing this and all these people that have left comments in support, its simply magic. All this will come back on you ten fold so I hope you enjoy every little bit of what good things are coming your way as we all have enjoyed so much your humour and generosity in this tough time. xxx charz11 (202 ) 9:07 pm, Thu 3 Mar
thanks charz, I too am proud to be a cantab. But I have got to thinking lately that I am even prouder to be a kiwi. I know we bitch and moan at each other a bit, but our national spirit is truly inspiring :-) take care and stay strong. 10:21 am, Fri 4 Mar
Hi Phil, Your spirit is inspiring & you've made a great auction. I hope the winner fronts up with the cash. Best wishes & support from some JAFAs. eedje (17 ) 9:09 pm, Thu 3 Mar

thanks graeme :-) 11:14 am, Fri 4 Mar
this a thought... why not let Rocky permanently squatter in your pad & have your place turned into a permanent donation attraction - where people from all over nz/the world can pay to take a pic with Rocky & the proceeds can go to a/many worthy cause(s). That way donations are ongoing... What you've gone is creative & hope Rocky will be iconic like the Paua Shell House. All the best! happybaby (277 ) 9:37 pm, Thu 3 Mar
does that mean we will be called Fred and Myrtle?? 11:14 am, Fri 4 Mar

Phil - I see that my Great Aunt Lil has come to visit you. She's loud, over-bearing, loves to make an entrance, is as old as the hills and has a knack for turning up where she's not wanted. She demands that everyone jump to attention, dominates the conversation and cannot be moved no matter how hard you try. Her girth is about the same size too. I can see why you want to get rid of her, and good luck with that - we've all been hoping for years that she'll move away. You have my sympathies. pandora9 (344 ) 10:08 pm, Thu 3 Mar
thanks pandora9....she ain't heavy shes my auntie :-) 11:18 am, Fri 4 Mar
I'd like to bid for this. Can you assure me, my investment will be protected during removal and transport. I was thinking of a couple of layers of bubble wrap if you'd be so kind. exwesty (1132 ) 10:09 pm, Thu 3 Mar
easy peesy lemon squeezy 11:19 am, Fri 4 Mar
I live in a glass house and like to throw stones. Are you able to provide a large catapult along with Rocky? If so, we'd love for you to slap a few stamps on him and pop him in your nearest postbox. Our address is West Auckland, so it should be fine regular post... Don't lose your sense of humor bro! Our thoughts are with all our frienss in Christchurch :) Adz adamfresco (163 ) 10:14 pm, Thu 3 Mar
only if you can find the rubber band! Thanks Adz, love your support 11:19 am, Fri 4 Mar
65,000,000 years old and just started to roll around????? Maybe Rocky's urge to procreate finally got the better of him? there is a chance he sensed a fine female specimen under your garage and maybe just maybe she is on..... bedrock....? Rocky may well look like he is precariously perched in your garage but it may well be the masonary position. If you spot him him grinning and smoking a cigarette anytime soon this could confirm this..... keep up the good work :) sharpeh (41 ) 10:14 pm, Thu 3 Mar
nice wit :-) 11:20 am, Fri 4 Mar
Can i buy the nice doors next to rocky.Blowen up photos on T.M, got some interested parties off shore.Good on ya.AC genyman (1 ) 10:19 pm, Thu 3 Mar

Hey Phil just a quicky but did you realize that the police are after this dude Rocky for break and entry? I would be very careful approaching as rocky is probably very dangerous and would not approach especially from below. Take care dude. hitch2 (179 ) 10:26 pm, Thu 3 Mar
cheers mate...he is currently stonewalling the cops!! 11:21 am, Fri 4 Mar
