About the town of Kropotkin

Kropotkin is located in the eastern part of the region, on the right bank of the river Kuban, 136 km to the north-east from Krasnodar. Founded in 1771 as the Caucasian fortress to protect Russia's southern border. Cossacks of the Don village Romanov put up a post here. Growing up around it the village received the same name.
