Many years ago people lived in harmony with the environment because industry was not much developed. Now the situation is quite different. People all over the world cannot ignore the problem of the protection of the environment because of modem industry and the need for energy. Newspapers and magazines write a lot about water pollution, air pollution and land pollution. There are some laws and decisions on this important question. There are state organisations and international conventions which pay much attention to this problem.

Many parts of the world are crowded now, much of our waste, especially waste from factories, electric power stations, the chemical industry and heavy industry are very dangerous. Fish dies in the lakes, rivers and seas, forest trees die too.
The problem of radiation has also become a very important problem because it is very dangerous for health of people. There is a science, named ecology, which study the relation between people and their environment. But each of us also must do everything possible to keep our environment clean for ourselves and for the next generations.
Ecologists are trying to keep the land, air and water clean. Why must we keep our earth clean? We have only a certain amount of fresh water and clean air and we must take care of it. If we don’t stop air and water pollution, trees and flowers won’t grow, fish will die in dirty water. We will have to breathe dirty air.
Of course, people are working to make the earth cleaner, but they must do more. What can people do to make earth cleaner? Factories must stop polluting air, rivers and lakes with waste products and chemicals. They must work on it more. Lakes and rivers must be cleaned and kept clean. Environmental problems concern everyone. We should remember that everyone can do something to solve them. We all want to live in a clean world.
Environmental pollution is the biggest menace to the human race on this planet today. It means adding impurity to environment. The environment consists of earth, water, air, plants and animals. If we pollute them, then the existence of man and nature will be hampered.
It is true that trees are being cut down rapidly. Our earth is becoming warmer. If pollution continues, the day is not far when our earth will be a boiling pan and become a desert. Or it will be covered with sea water causing destruction of mankind.
Pure air is always needed for inhaling. If we take pure air, our health improves. On the other hand impure air causes diseases and impairs our health and causes our death. Smoke pollutes the air. It is the root of air pollution. The smoke which is discharged from industries, automobiles and kitchens is the mixture of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane etc. These are all poisonous gases. These cause lung-cancer, tuberculosis etc. which take a heavy toll of life. The glaring incident is the Bhopal gas leak in December 1984. Thousands of the residents of Bhopal died due to lungs problem which was caused by methylamine gas from the Union Carbide Plant.
The garbage emitting foul smell, the decaying plants and animals also cause air pollution. Hence the doctors advise the patients having lungs trouble to settle in some rural places because the air of villages is pure and free from population.
Then comes sound pollution. The harsh sounds of buses, its, mopeds etc. affect our power of hearing and causes fart trouble. It has been reported that there are two villages named Biraspalli and Devadas Palli near Dum Dum airport m Calcutta where a large number of people have lost their power of hearing. This is because of the frequent sounds of planes coming in and going out of Dum Dum Airport. The evils of sound pollution can be imagined from this example.
The water of rivers and seas is being constantly polluted all over the world by various dangerous chemical and biological wastes. Mills and factories discharge very harmful waste waters into many rivers and sea. The water of the Ganges flowing by the side of both Varanashi and Calcutta is extremely polluted and contains all sorts of dangerous bacteria. It is really very strange and laughable that large number of the Indians regard this water as holy. They even drink this water for salvation. There is no doubt that the fish that grow in such waters are poisonous too.
If the air we breathe, the water we drink and the soil which produces our crops, vegetables and fruits, all become more and more impure, then our chances of good health and longevity will be very less and less. Environment pollution is a serious menace to our existence. Realising the danger, we must plant trees in large number to absorb impure air. Impure water from industries can be sent back for purification and then it can be used for irrigation purpose. Our government is well aware of the fact and is taking steps to save environment from pollution.

Есть государственные организации и международные конвенции, которые уделяют большое внимание этой проблеме.
Многие части мира переполнены в настоящее время, большая часть отходов, особенно отходов с заводов, электростанций, химической промышленности и тяжелой промышленности очень опасны. Рыба погибает в озерах, реках и морях, лесные деревья умирают тоже.
Проблема радиационной также стал очень важной проблемой, потому что это очень опасно для здоровья людей. Если мы не остановим загрязнение воздуха и воды, деревьев и цветов не будет расти, рыба умрет в грязной воде. Нам придется дышать грязным воздухом.
Конечно, люди работают, чтобы сделать Землю чище, но они должны сделать еще больше. Что люди могут сделать, чтобы сделать Землю чище? Заводы должны прекратить загрязнение воздуха, рек и озер с отходами и химическими веществами. Они должны работать на нем больше. Озера и реки должны быть очищены и содержаться в чистоте. Экологические проблемы касаются каждого. Мы должны помнить, что каждый человек может что-то сделать для их решения. Мы все хотим жить в чистом мире.
Загрязнение окружающей среды является самой большой угрозой для человеческой расы на этой планете сегодня. Это означает, добавление примесей в окружающей среде. Среда состоит из земли, воды, воздуха, растений и животных. Если мы загрязняют их, то существование человека и природы будет затруднено.Это правда, что деревья вырубаются быстро. Наша Земля становится теплее. Если загрязнение продолжается, в день, не далеко, когда наша земля будет кипящую кастрюлю и стать пустыней. Или это будет покрыто морской водой вызывает уничтожение человечества.
Чистый воздух всегда необходима для вдыхания. Если взять чистый воздух, наше здоровье улучшается. С другой стороны нечистый воздух вызывает заболевания и ухудшает наше здоровье и вызывает нашу смерть. Дым загрязняет воздух. Это корень загрязнения воздуха. Дым, который выпускают из отраслей промышленности, автомобили и кухня представляет собой смесь окиси углерода, двуокиси углерода, метана и т.д. Это все ядовитые газы. Эти причины раком легких, туберкулез и т.д., которые уносят жизни. Вопиющий инцидент Бхопал утечка газа в декабре 1984 года. Загрязнение окружающей среды является серьезной угрозой нашему существованию. Понимая опасность, мы должны сажать деревья в большом количестве поглощать нечистый воздух. Нечистые воды из отраслей может быть отправлен на очистку, а затем она может быть использована для орошения цели. Наше правительство прекрасно осознает этот факт и предпринимает шаги для сохранения окружающей среды от загрязнения.
