3. Напишите предложения  в вопросительной, а затем в отрицательной  форме и переведите  их на русский  язык:

     1. Mary and Ann are friends.

     2. There are some English books on my desk.

     3. They have got a nice house in the country.

     4. There was a chair near the table.

     5. Jane is my uncle’s wife. 

1. Are Mary and Ann friends? - Мэри и  Энн друзья?

Mary and Ann are not friends. - Мэри  и Энн не друзья. 

2. Are there any English books on my desk? - На  моем (письменном) столе  есть английские  книги?

There are not any English books on my desk. - На моем письменном  столе нет ни  одной английской  книги. 

3. Have they got a nice house in the country? - У них есть хороший  дом за городом  (в деревне)?

They have not got a nice house in the country. - У них нет хорошего дома за городом (в деревне). 

4. Was there a chair near the table? - Рядом  со столом был  стул?

There was not a chair near the table. - Рядом  со столом не  было стула. 

5. Is Jane my uncle's wife? - Джейн  является женой  моего дяди?

Jane is not my uncle's wife. - Джейн не является женой моего дяди. 
 

4. Заполните пропуски соответствующей  формой глагола to be, to have.

       1. That pen is black. 2. Is this book good? 3. There are three cups on the table. 4. There is a desk, a sofa, a wardrobe and two armchairs in my room. 5. We usually have got much work to do. 6. Jane has got a lot of children. 
 
 

5. Заполните пропуски  соответствующими предлогами по смыслу, где это необходимо.

6. Заполните пропуски прилагательными  в соответствующей  степени сравнения:

1. Your room is colder than mine. 2. Their flat is more expensive than ours. 3. His article is the best in our class. 4. English grammar is easily than Russian grammar. 5. Peter is the tallest boy in our class. 6. Which of you is the shortest? 7. Are the streets in Moscow cleaner now than they were a few years ago? 
 

7. Заполните пропуски  в предложениях, используя  модальные глаголы  can, must, may, should, have to и их эквиваленты. Переведите предложения на русский язык.

      1. Nina is ill. She must stay in bed. 2. Drivers must stop when they see the red light. 3. Betty asked: “May  I open the window?” 4. Mary is free tonight. She can go to the disco. 5. You should read the text again. 6. Who can translate this sentence? 7. You can go to Moscow by train or by plane. 8. Don’t wait for him. He must be late. 9. My mother is out.
