OF MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF UKRAINE

DONETSK LAW INSTITUTE OF MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF UKRAINE is a higher legal educational establishment with great history. It was created in February, 1993 on the basis of the Donetsk school of militia. Its history started in 1961, when Stalin (Donetsk) special secondary school of militia was founded. The institute during the period of its existence has gained profound experience in training specialists for Internal Affairs` agencies.

There are 6 faculties, 22 departments, 3 scientific research laboratories, psychological training centre in the structure of the Institute. The students study at 5 full-time faculties and 1 part-time faculty. Faculty 1 trains the specialists for criminal militia. Faculty 2 is Militia of public security. Faculty 3 trains field-criminalists and investigators. Faculty 4 is Road Traffic security militia. Faculty 5 is Correspondent department. Faculty 6 is Law department, which trains lawyers. And there is a post-graduate department here.

The Institute has highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff. It gives the possibility to train specialists for all branches of law enforcement activities, namely: investigators, field-criminalists, detectives, specialists on combating organized and economic crimes.

  The course of studies lasts 4 years for gaining Bachelor’s degree and 5 years to obtain Master of Law degree. There are more than 1000 graduates each year. More than 4000 cadets and students study here now.

There are 7 academic buildings, 4 libraries, 4 gyms, medical unit and a stadium. The law library provides the students with access to computer terminals with different online services. A great deal of students are involved in scientific-research work. The research students` societies and legal clinic function here. The students have all possibilities to develop their creative potential.

Annually the collection of research works, manuals and text books are published at the Institute. The Institute sets and develops creative relations with a lot of law educational establishments in Ukraine and abroad.
