The administrative center is the town of Taldykorgan located in the southeast of the country at the foot of the Zhungar Alatau northern slopes at an altitude of 570-630 m above sea level on the Karatal river bank. At present there are 133,4 thousand inhabitants of seventy nationalities. Taldykorgan is one of the very green towns in the Republic, it is buried in verdure of parks and gardens. There are many relics of the v pasti which are a part of historical and cultural heritage.

By way of movement active tourism differentiated into water, mountain, hiking, etc. An important feature of active tourism is that the achievement of athletic performance is not the main purpose, and because it may be more widespread, accessible to the general public. Now to the active forms of tourism include hiking, skiing, water, cycling, mountaineering, horse riding, road and mototourists and caving. Mountain tourism is a trip to the mountains on the slopes, ridges and glaciers, through passes and mountain streams. Most often under the mountain tourism imply only climbing, and yet they are also ecotourism. Climbing consider extreme kind of sports, because it is connected with the real dangers - overcoming steep slopes and ridges, cracks, cracks, and the risk of falling into the snow avalanches, rockslides, mudflows in bad weather conditions, low atmospheric pressure and high solar radiation.
